This FAQ will answer your
questions about Funky Lotto.
Question #1: Why is the site so slow?
Answer: The web server now has more memory and we no longer plan to move
the web site. We are working on improving the performance by optimizing the
site. The site is already 50% faster after enabling HTTP compression and there
are a few more tweaks that can be tried. For now, the web site will be
especially slow after sending the weekly results so you may want to wait awhile
after receiving your weekly winner results before attempting to play.
Question #2: How do I change my email address?
Answer: You need to
login even if the
home page shows you as logged in. After you log in, you will find the form to
change your information by scrolling down the page. We plan to make this form
more accessible soon.
NOTE: Changing your email address will affect your ability to log in. You
will need to delete your current Funky Lotto cookie and log in to create a new
one with your new email address.
Question #3: How can my spouse play Funky Lotto on the same computer?
Answer: This has been a problem because Funky Lotto uses a cookie. In
order for another player to begin playing, he / she will need to login using
their own email address and password. An alternative is for one player to use
another browser like
Firefox or
Opera which will
have its own cookie. Another option is for each user to login to Windows using
their own Windows user account which will maintain a separate set of application
settings like browser bookmarks and cookies.
Question #4: Why can't I log in?
Answer: This problem is usually due to a bad cookie caused by the frames
used in the web site's design (being phased out). Your cookie may have two email
addresses with the first one being blank. Internet Explorer 7 will use the first
email address value found in the cookie. You won't be able to login with a blank
email address! Other browsers like Firefox will use the second email address
value in the cookie and that allows you to login. So the solution to this
problem is to use the Firefox browser. Another solution is to delete your Funky Lotto
cookie and then log back in to create a good cookie. In Windows XP, you can find
your cookie in the C:\Documents and Settings\account_name\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files directory as a text file.
Question #5: How can I delete my Funky Lotto cookie?
Answer: Click this button. It will delete your Funky Lotto cookie by
setting it's expiration date way in the past. You will then need to log in to get
a new cookie.
Question #6: What can I do about the offensive advertising on this site?
Answer: We have added a player preference which you can set so that you
will not see adult
sexual content as you play the game. Advertisements are displayed randomly but
this preference setting will skip those while you are logged in to your account.
